Jim's Calligraphy Tip o' the Day

Left-Handed Calligraphers

Left-handers have three possible positions. Pick the one that is best.

Position 1: Paper slanted, hand held beneath the writing line, left elbow in close to side. Use left oblique nibs on all pens. This is the ideal position. Position 2: Paper turned almost completely sideways, hand positioned as shown, elbow in very close to side. This is the position used by those who want to use right-handed pens. Position 3: Paper is straight up and down, hand "hooked" over the top. This is the least desirable position, but is most comforatble for some. Use right-handed nibs.
